You can move a face up card on the Tableau onto another Tableau pile, if that pile's top card is one higher than the moved card and in a different color.

Then each of the players each plays one card. If they have a card in the same suit as the first card then that suit must be played.

If not, they can play any of their other cards. Once 4 cards have been played, the player who played the highest ranking card takes the trick.

This means he or she takes the 4 cards on the table and starts the next turn. Any penalty cards any hearts or queen of spades the trick are added to the player's penalty score.

Try to avoid these unless you are shooting the moon which we'll touch on later. You may not lead a trick with hearts until hearts has been played on another suit aka 'broken'.

If it is your turn to lead and no hearts have been played thus far, you cannot select a heart as the card to play.

In some versions of game Hearts you cannot play the Queen of Spades until hearts has been broken, but in this variation you can always play the queen of spades and it doesn't break hearts.

In the first round you may not play a heart or the queen of spades, even if you do not possess any card in the suit of the starting card. After all cards have been played, the penalty points are counted and the player with the smallest number of points wins that particular hand.

Play Medium Hearts with four other medium level Heart players powered by the finest Artificial Intelligence technology. Each player will be dealt 13 cards to play the Hearts game.

With your 13 cards already in place when you select the card game you can start enjoying Medium Hearts immediately! Excel at Medium Hearts by not winning any tricks played with hearts.

Each heart suited card that you collect will add one point to your score which should be kept low as the point of Hearts is to have the lowest possible score at the conclusion of Medium Hearts.

You will also want to make sure that you do not acquire the Queen of Spades. If you have been dealt the Queen of Spades at the onset of the round it is the ideal card to pass to the right at the beginning of the round.

This is so because the Hearts player to your right will lay cards before you. There is an exception to this Hearts rule though, you will play before the player to the right if you are leading the trick.

But it is still to your advantage to pass the Queen of Spades when playing Medium Hearts because on any trick that you are not leading on you will be aware that the Queen of Spades can possibly fall on the current trick before you play your card.

This knowledge is invaluable while playing Hearts at Hearts. When playing Medium Hearts make sure to keep low cards in each suit in your hand for later tricks.

Leaving low cards will allow you to lose Heart tricks later on in the Hearts games when all of the other Heart players are desperately trying to dump their hearts and possibly even the Queen of Spades.

Hearts is all about strategy, increasingly so in higher level games such as Medium Hearts. Stay one step ahead of other players in Medium Hearts by passing strategically at the start of a round and holding on to cards that will allow you to play to lose tricks near the end of the game.
